A Philosophical Friday with Sofia
When I was working as a teacher at the university, a student called my session
"A Philosophical Friday with Sofia"
I loved that!
So please allow me to think freely this Friday and share my unfiltered thoughts about the world.
The world has always been powered by imagination. So what if, focusing on all the bad stuff actually give these phenomena more power? We are putting our attention on war, poverty, polarisation, inequality, unfairness, hate, terror, and climate change for all the right reasons, but, where is the progress, we are regressing, are we not?
What if the good intention of trying to prevent it all actually brings more fuel to the fire? What if that is what we are seeing, after a few decades of trying to make the world a better place?
No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it
- Albert Einstein
What if we were right, we just got it all wrong?
What if the desire for control and power over other people and the desired outcome, —no matter if you are "good and right"— is simply bad and wrong always ... What if the desire for control, for all the right reasons, with the desire to fix what is broken and wrong, is what is actually causing chaos, and war, poverty, and inequality, hate, and terror?
What if the subconscious desire to control life and death is what makes us sick and what will get us killed?
What if right, wrong, good and bad, is the level of consciousness that has created this mess? And what if action and consequences no longer apply as a framework to this interconnected web of life?
No matter your smartness, you'll never figure it out!
Would you allow cause and effect to expand to the realization that you control nothing, but everything that matters, you own nothing while everything of importance was yours all along, and you are insignificant and significant at the same time?
Can you hold the contradictions of our existence?
What if the only thing you can control is how you choose to show up in this world and what if that is the most altruistic thing you could do for humanity —to manage your vibration.
Would you surrender to it?
What if we need to imagine a better future, filled with happiness, abundance, health, wealth, prosperity, love, peace, and understanding instead? What if the greatest challenge is to always rise above the circumstance and dare to hope for a better future in the darkest of moments? What if the best thing you can do is to shift your mindset and attention towards all the things that actually work really well. Would you do it?
Or have you become addicted to the cortisol and the adrenaline that floods through your veins creating a sensation of familiarity, control, and comfort, even if it makes you sick? Every time you read the paper, there it is. The stress and the frustration... Ahhh ....
What if you would start to put your attention to all the great things people are doing trying to fix the mess we are in?
For every wrong turn humanity takes in history, there are a million humans trying to fix it with excitement, passion, curiosity, and joy. They no longer vibrate out of shame, blame, guilt, or fear. They have no time to judge, no time for revenge. They keep their eyes on the horizon and keep moving. Forcing noting onto no one. Simply being IT. Role models of a single healthy cell in this massive organism called the universe. Choose to back that.
Choose to back the ones believing they can change the world even in the darkest of moments. If you want to heal the void inside, become a better person, make the world a better place ... choose to be the change you want to see in this world.
It starts with you and me, the time is now.
And with this I wish you a great weekend.
